Arrival of the Messenger | Moog's new synthesizer

Superbooth 25 is right around the corner – we are however giving it a miss this year.  Regardless, as usual that means a flood of new gear announcements are to be expected. Moog is already stirring the pot with a mysterious teaser for its upcoming synth, the Messenger.

The teaser video is a weird trip people burying mics in the woods, surreal office scenes straight out of Severance, and a glimpse of someone actually playing the Messenger. (Moog gear popped up in Severance Season 2, Episode 4.)

Moog calls the Messenger "a carrier of universal language" and "a machine for deeper meaning" cryptic stuff, eh?

From what you can see in the teaser video – it's a compact 32-key monosynth with two morphing oscillators, a sub-oscillator, FM, and oscillator sync. There’s also a multimode filter with four modes, an arpeggiator, and what looks like a 64-step sequencer with probabilistic features—possibly inspired by the sequencer in Moog’s Muse?

The teaser ends with: “Keep on listening. We'll have more to share soon.”
