Grone 2 Dark Drone machine Pedal Version

The Grone 2 pedal is a spin-off from the Eurorack module, adding a fuzz effect for the processing input and a new reverb section with a pitch component.

Drone VCO

• Sound generation based on equations converted to analogue signals.
• Sixteen equations are selectable via an algorithmic potentiometer (up pot).
• Four LEDs indicate the selected equation in binary format.
• A0, A1 and A2 pots modify parameters used by the equations.
• Sample Rate pot adjusts pitch and oscillation speed.
• Expression input EXP2 controls the sample rate.

Noise generator

•  White noise generator with dedicated level pot

Voltage-controlled filter (VCF)

• MS20-style resonant low-pass filter.
• Cutoff (cut) pot adjusts the filter cutoff frequency.
• Resonance (rez) pot controls resonance intensity.
• Modulation amount (mod) pot determines the amount of filter modulation.
• Expression input EXP1 allows external control of the filter cutoff.

LFO

• Low-frequency oscillator routed to VCF modulation.
• Rate pot adjusts the oscillation speed.
• LFO Wave pot changes the waveform type.
• Available waveforms:

• Ramp down
• Square
• Triangle
• Sine
• Sweep
• Random levels
• Random slopes

Fuzz section

• Gain stage that processes the input signal.
• Input Gain pot adjusts the input signal level.
• Level pot controls the output level.

Effects section

• Chorused reverb with delay and octave pitch components (up or down).
• Includes a freeze function.
• Blend pot mixes effects with the final output signal.
• Octave pot blends a pitched signal into the reverb input.
• Octave -1/+1 pot controls tuning of the pitch component.
• Repeat pot adjusts the delay feedback.
• Balance pot controls mix of reverb and delay.
• Pitch pot alters the sampling rate of the effects section, modifying delay time and reverb decay.

Footswitches

1. Synth: Mutes or enables the drone VCO and noise generator.
2. Filter: Bypasses the VCF.
3. Fuzz: Bypasses the fuzz processing.
4. Reverb: Bypasses the reverb/delay section.
5. Freeze: Toggles the freeze function in the reverb section.

Jacks

• Input: Accepts external signals.
• EXP1: Controls VCF cutoff.
• EXP2: Controls VCO sample rate.
• Output: Outputs the processed signal.
