The S4 is a sculpting sampler for capturing and transforming sound. It combines tape-inspired workflows with modern tools in an intuitive, immediate instrument. Designed for sampling and real-time performance, it lets you capture and shape sound in parallel.

Audio engine:

Four parallel stereo tracks, each with a signal chain consisting of five audio devices:

MATERIAL

Capture, play, and layer sound using samples from internal storage, real-time recording, overdub, sound-on-sound loops, varispeed recording, or external audio processing

GRANULAR

Turn any sound into rich clouds, shifting textures, and rhythmic glitches, using the granular engine. Freeze, scan, and reshape captured audio for everything from subtle movement to complete transformation.

FILTER

Shape your sound with a 48-band resonator filter bank, from classic low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass filtering to tuned, animated, and resonant textures.

COLOR

Add character with dual-band distortion, bit crushing, compression, and noise generation, from subtle warmth to more destructive processing

SPACE

Create depth and movement with stereo reverb and delay, including freeze for holding moments in place during performance

• Master section: With four-channel mixer, DJ-style low-pass/high-pass filter per channel, and summing compressor
