Torso Electronics T1: A new approach to sequencing
The T1 is an algorithmic sequencer for developing and evolving musical ideas. It gives you one place to shape rhythm, melody, and variation across Eurorack, hardware synths, and DAWs, with MIDI, CV, and gate keeping everything connected. Move quickly from an initial idea to something more developed, while keeping the process hands-on, flexible, and open to discovery.
Sequencer:
16 parallel tracks with a flexible set of generative, algorithmic, and step-based sequencing tools:
RHYTHM
Generate Euclidean rhythms and reshape them with step editing, repeats, probability, and variation. Move freely between algorithmic patterns and precise manual control.
MELODY
Generate and develop melodic sequences using seven musical scales, one user scale per track, harmonic pitch control, and polyphonic sequencing.
ARPEGGIATOR
Create repeating and evolving note structures with an advanced note repeater and arpeggiator, from simple patterns to dense rhythmic movement.
RANDOMIZATION
Introduce controlled variation to any parameter, from subtle shifts to more unpredictable changes, and use random modulation to keep patterns moving over time.
TRANSFORM
Process incoming MIDI and reshape existing sequences in real time, using the T1 as both a sequencer and a generative transformation tool.
AUTOMATION
Shape per-step parameter changes across your setup, or use the encoders as dedicated MIDI CC controllers for hands-on control.
SCALES & HARMONY
Keep melodic ideas connected with musical scales and harmonic pitch control, making it easy to explore variation while maintaining relationships between tracks.
POLYPHONY
Sequence chords, layered notes, and polyphonic material on every track, across up to 16 MIDI channels.
Features:
- 16 tracks per pattern: Each with independent sequencing, modulation, and MIDI control
- 16 MIDI channels: For sequencing multiple instruments from a single system
- Pattern exploration: Create variations, return to earlier states, and continue shaping ideas without committing too early
- Per-step automation: Add movement across your setup and control external parameters directly from the sequence
